Coconut Furniture Ltd. Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 21, 2026

Coconut Furniture Ltd. ("Coconut," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you visit coconutfurniture.com (the "Site"), create an account, communicate with us, participate in a promotion, or purchase or review our products.

This Policy applies to information handled by Coconut through the Site and related customer interactions. It does not govern the independent privacy practices of third-party websites or services that we do not control.

1. Personal Information We Collect

Personal information is information about an identifiable individual. The information we collect depends on how you interact with Coconut.

Information You Provide

  • Contact and identity information, such as your name, email address, telephone number, billing address, shipping address, and account details.
  • Order and transaction information, such as products viewed or purchased, finish selections, order number, payment status, delivery instructions, returns, warranty claims, and communications about an order.
  • Payment and checkout information. Payments are processed by Shopify and its payment services, including Shopify Payments and Shop Pay. Coconut generally receives transaction details and payment status rather than complete payment-card credentials.
  • Customer-service information, including messages, photographs, videos, product concerns, survey responses, chat communications, and other information you choose to provide.
  • Marketing and promotion information, such as email or SMS subscription preferences, contest entries, referral activity, and responses to promotions.
  • Reviews and other content that you submit for publication, such as ratings, comments, photographs, or videos.

Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect device and usage information, including your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, approximate location, time zone, referring pages, pages or products viewed, searches, clicks, cart activity, and interactions with our emails or advertisements. We collect this information through cookies, pixels, tags, software development tools, log files, and similar technologies.

Information From Other Sources

We may receive information from payment processors, delivery and logistics providers, marketing and advertising partners, analytics providers, social media platforms, fraud-prevention services, referral partners, and other service providers. For example, a delivery provider may send us shipment status or delivery confirmation, and an advertising platform may provide campaign and audience information.

2. How We Use Personal Information

We use personal information for reasonable business purposes, including to:

  • operate the Site and provide products and services;
  • process payments, accept and fulfil orders, arrange delivery, and provide receipts and order updates;
  • manage accounts, returns, cancellations, replacement parts, warranty claims, and customer support;
  • verify information, screen transactions, prevent fraud, maintain security, and protect Coconut, our customers, and others;
  • personalize and improve the Site, products, advertising, communications, and customer experience;
  • measure Site use and marketing performance, develop statistics, and conduct research and analysis;
  • send transactional messages and, with the consent required by law, marketing emails or text messages;
  • administer reviews, surveys, contests, promotions, referrals, and other voluntary programs;
  • comply with legal, tax, accounting, regulatory, and contractual obligations; and
  • establish, exercise, or defend legal rights and resolve disputes.

If we wish to use personal information for a materially different purpose, we will provide notice and obtain consent where required by law.

3. Consent and Your Choices

We obtain consent in a form appropriate to the sensitivity of the information and the circumstances. Some information is necessary to provide a requested product or service. If you do not provide it, we may be unable to complete an order, arrange delivery, respond to a request, or provide certain Site features.

You may withdraw consent to optional uses, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already lawfully completed. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in each message and from promotional text messages by replying STOP. We may still send non-promotional messages about your account, orders, deliveries, returns, warranty matters, security, or changes that affect a service you use.

4. Cookies Analytics and Advertising

The Site uses necessary cookies that support functions such as navigation, account access, shopping carts, checkout, fraud prevention, and security. We may also use analytics, functional, and advertising technologies to understand Site performance, remember preferences, measure campaigns, and provide more relevant advertising.

Our tools may include Shopify analytics, Google Analytics, Google services, and Meta technologies such as the Meta Pixel. These providers may collect or receive information about your device, Site activity, purchases, and interactions with advertisements. They may combine that information with information they receive from other services, subject to their own privacy policies and your settings with them.

Where required by law, we request consent before using non-essential cookies or similar technologies. You may use the cookie settings made available on the Site and your browser or device settings to control cookies. Blocking cookies may affect checkout or other Site functions. You can also adjust advertising preferences through your Google and Meta account settings.

We do not sell personal information for money. Some laws may define the use of advertising cookies or disclosure to advertising partners as "sharing," "selling," or targeted advertising. Where those laws apply, we will provide the required choice or opt-out mechanism.

5. Marketing Communications

If you subscribe or otherwise provide valid consent, we may send marketing communications about Coconut products, launches, offers, surveys, and events. We use Mailchimp and may use Shopify marketing tools to manage email communications. We may also use an SMS service provider for text messages.

Marketing consent is voluntary and is separate from accepting our Terms and Conditions or completing a purchase. You may unsubscribe at any time. Our service providers may process contact details, subscription status, message engagement, and related technical information to send messages, prevent abuse, and measure performance.

6. How We Disclose Personal Information

We disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to:

  • Shopify and related commerce, hosting, checkout, payment, account, and fraud-prevention services;
  • payment providers and financial institutions, including Shopify Payments and Shop Pay;
  • warehouses, manufacturers where necessary for fulfilment or support, freight forwarders, customs service providers, carriers, delivery partners, and installation or service partners if offered;
  • technology, cloud hosting, customer-support, chat, review, survey, referral, security, and data-storage providers;
  • Mailchimp, Google, Meta, and other analytics, communications, and advertising providers;
  • professional advisers such as accountants, insurers, auditors, consultants, and legal counsel;
  • government, regulatory, law-enforcement, customs, or judicial authorities where disclosure is required or permitted by law; and
  • a buyer, investor, lender, affiliate, or adviser in connection with a proposed or completed financing, merger, reorganization, sale, or transfer of all or part of our business or assets.

Service providers are permitted to handle personal information for the services they provide to us and may have their own legal obligations. If you choose to interact directly with a third-party service or platform, its privacy policy will also apply.

7. International Processing

Coconut is based in British Columbia, Canada, but some service providers may process or store personal information in Canada, the United States, or other countries. Information processed in another jurisdiction may be subject to that jurisdiction's laws and may be accessible to courts, law-enforcement agencies, or regulatory authorities in accordance with local law.

We use reasonable contractual, organizational, and technical measures appropriate to the information and the services involved. You may contact our Privacy Officer for more information about processing outside Canada.

8. Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy and to meet legal, tax, accounting, warranty, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, and recordkeeping requirements. Retention periods vary depending on the type and sensitivity of the information, the reason it was collected, and applicable law.

When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to securely delete, destroy, or anonymize it. We may retain anonymized or aggregated information that no longer identifies an individual.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, theft, unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include access controls and security protections provided through our commerce, payment, communications, and technology providers.

No system or transmission method is completely secure. You are responsible for using a strong, unique password and protecting your account credentials. Please contact us promptly if you believe your account or personal information has been compromised. If a breach creates a legal notification obligation, we will provide notice as required by applicable law.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have the right to:

  • request access to personal information we hold about you and information about how it has been used or disclosed;

To make a request, contact our Privacy Officer using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will not provide another person's information and may retain or withhold information where permitted or required by law. We will explain any material limitation on a request.

11. Customer Accounts

If you create a customer account, you are responsible for keeping your login information confidential and for activity under your account. You may update certain account details through the Site. Contact us if you need help accessing, correcting, or closing your account. Closing an account does not necessarily require us to delete records that we must retain for legal or legitimate business purposes.

12. Reviews Surveys Chat and Referrals

Information you submit through a review, survey, chat, referral, or similar feature may be processed by the provider that operates that feature for us. Content you choose to publish, such as a public review or photograph, may be visible to others. Please do not post sensitive personal information publicly. If an incentive is offered for a review, referral, survey, or promotion, any additional terms presented at that time will apply.

13. Children

The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without authorization required by law. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us improperly, please contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

14. Third Party Links

The Site may contain links to websites, social media platforms, financing providers, or services operated by third parties. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Coconut is not responsible for third-party services that it does not control.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our practices, services, providers, or legal obligations. The revised Policy will be posted on the Site with a new last-updated date.
